HDR PHOTOGRAPHY
Our eyes are able to see a wide range of light levels, from very bright to very dark. We can look at a scene with a bright, sunlit sky and we're still able to discern objects hidden in the dark shadows. This is referred to as High Dynamic Range. The electronic sensor inside a camera does not have the same dynamic range as our human eyes. To overcome this limitation, we take multiple photos of the same scene with varying light exposure levels and then combine these images into a single photographic image that has a higher dynamic range, that is more like what our naked eyes can see.
